Meryl&Jaime | Wedding Photographer | Holliston, MA

I love weddings! There, I finally said it in public! I love being there to witness the commitment two people make to each other, the amazing atmosphere when  family and friends gather around the bride and groom to celebrate their marriage. I photographed Meryl and Jaime’s wedding last June alongside my friend Jaime Pickles. The wedding and the reception were held at the Holliston Historical Society, the Asa Whiting House.  An all vintage wedding in a historic building, with gorgeous handmade details, aroma of wild flowers (my favorite in the whole world) and Jaime’s voice who was serenading outside the house where Meryl was getting ready. It can’t get better than this!

Being a second shooter was so much fun and it gave me the opportunity to focus on all the details and photograph the groom while he was playing guitar and singing. I ended up with fewer photos of the bride but there are a few favorites like this one of Meryl, unposed and really natural moment, just before heading out to say “Ido”. She looked stunning!
Meryl & Jaime, you guys rock! Thank you for the honor of photographing your big day! Congratulations again and best wishes!

Happy L♥ve Day Everyone!

Celebrating with crayon hearts this year :)

Lovin’ it!

I’ve always loved to make all sorts of crafts but after having the first child it became all too obvious that there is not enough time in life to have it all. Now that we are again stuck with the diaper routine with the new baby, I literally steal moments to make something fun and regain a bit of my emotional space. So in celebration of SELF this Valentine’s Day season, I came up with this cute garland to hang in one of the windows. The inspiration came from felt garlands that you can find on Etsy.

Things you need: a few sheets of colorful  paper, a heart paper punch (mine is 2.5 inches wide), sewing machine and  about 30 minutes of your time. It really is quick as long as the baby is sleeping or chilling in the bouncer, I was not as lucky this time and I think it took me three days to finish. Every time I managed to sit down at the sewing machine, she was getting fussy. You are probably smiling now if you know the feeling :)

Anyways, for a window that measures 52×34 inches you need approximately 4 strings of hearts, 25 pieces each.  But you can make more if you like them closer together.

Then you just place them under the foot of the sewing machine, leaving a long piece of thread at the beginning of your string that will serve as a loop for hanging the garland and sew away! Try to go slow so that you can coordinate putting the hearts in place as you go.

To make this extra special I used the holiday photo cards that we got over the years, now we have our friends faces on display rather than stashed away in a box :) And the best part is that the hearts twirl with every bit of air movement, really cool!

This craft is not really for young kids but you can make them count the hearts you cut out. Good practice of counting by ones and tens :) The paper hearts can also be a cool thing to bring to school if the kids celebrate 100 days of school.

This is it, you hang the string on half inch screw eyes. I could tell my husband was not so happy to see making holes in the window frame but he said nothing ;)

This is it! If you make one, let me know :)

P.S. Our cat loves it too!

Dinner time?

Give them a chance and they might just make a cook out of you!!! Or they might convince you that you had it in you all along :)
A couple of weeks ago I went to see a sweet culinary school in Newton, MA. It’s called Create a Cook.
This was my first time at the school but I have heard lots of great things about it from my friend Linda at Sweet Alternatives.
I wish my family had tagged along, it was such a great experience for any age, be that young kids rolling pasta and making ravioli with their parents, couples learning the ropes of making sushi and Pad Thai or curious souls like me enjoying a tasty dessert and watching Linda make cake decorations from scratch. It could also be a great way of convincing your picky eater that there are other food groups beyond chicken nuggets!
The school offers a great selection of classes for kids and adults and if I ever found time to take a class I would go for the Italian cooking one to refresh my skills a bit. Making pasta is so much fun!
Big thanks to the staff of Create-a-Cook for putting up with my nosy presence, especially to Renee (the founder), for greeting me at the door and making me feel welcome, Jo (the owner) for allowing me to join the event, Chris for her help and all the instructors for a great time! It was lots of fun and felt like visiting an Italian family for dinner! Also, a big thank you to the kiddos and parents for allowing me to take pictures!

P.S. To All husbands and boyfriends out there (mine included!) Valentine’s Day is coming HINT HINT the school offers Date Night Couples Cooking ……

I came home with a ton of pictures of big and small cooks in action and I would love to share them with you………..
Come in, have a taste!

Winter, where are you???

The sound of snow crunching under your boots, icicles sparkling in the bright sun and the taste of  falling snowflakes on your tongue.

Don’t you miss that?

I sure do!!!

A little treat for all of you who miss winter as much as I do :)

Maternity session {Maternity Photographer, Natick, MA}

I love photographing women! And pregnant women especially :) Big thanks to Alison for allowing me to experiment and learn what I am looking for in this very special area of photography!

Jamie and Pahl {Engagement Photographer, Franklin, MA}

You know when you see it! It’s love! It can’t be mistaken for anything else :) It’s here and now, but also there and far away and somehow it can move mountains and change time zones and bloom against all odds. I met Jamie and Pahl and you could just feel it in the air, hear it in their laughter and see it in every look. We met on June 24th, exactly one year before their BIG DAY! Click to see how we began the countdown!

Growing Strong!

The families around me keep growing and expanding :) I love to be there to witness the great expectations and wonderful arrivals.

Here are a few images of Jenn, Anthony and their daughter waiting impatiently for the big day!

Family time :)

At the end of July I had a great pleasure to take pictures of a lovely family I met a while back at the Holiday Session with http://www.natickearlychildhood.org/ . The little girls have grown over the past few months and I was really excited to see how they’ve changed. My job is about stopping the moment so it can be cherished for a lifetime and generations to come.  And here is that moment in time :)

Mazel Tov Rose! {Franklin, MA Bat Mitzvah Photographer}

A rainy day at the Franklin Country Club couldn’t have been any warmer with all the love and friendship that was sparkling around this beautiful young lady! Congratulations Rose! We were very happy to be there to document your special day!
